Mr. Sanjay Agarwal, the founder and CEO of Apna Godam, hails from Jaipur and completed his education with a qualification in CA and CS in 2003. He worked for HDFC bank for 11 years before venturing into entrepreneurship in 2015. Sanjay established 'Apna Godam,' a company that offers warehousing and financial services for farmers' produce.
After obtaining a license from the government of Rajasthan in 2019, Apna Godam became the first online mandi in Rajasthan to be notified. As a child, Mr. Sanjay Agarwal observed the inner workings of the APMC, where his father was employed as a registered Arhatiya.
The APMC utilized an auction-based method for transactions, which favored large farmers with substantial yields. Unfortunately, smaller and marginalized farmers had less leverage due to their modest harvests, resulting in them selling their crops at lower prices and suffering as a result. This experience served as the impetus for Mr. Agarwal to become an entrepreneur.
Traditional warehouses have always been situated near consumption areas, but Apna Godam decided to break the norm by establishing warehouses near farms and production areas. This innovative approach has made it easier and more cost-effective for farmers to store their goods, as they no longer have to worry about transportation costs. Apna Godam only charges a minimal fee of 10 rupees per quintal per month, which includes insurance and preservation services.

Unlike traditional warehouses that have a fixed stack size of 150 MT, Apna Godam offers a unique MIX Stacking Method that allows farmers and small traders to deposit small quantities of goods. All stock-related processes, including depositing, withdrawing, and selling, are digital, and settlement is done in real-time through a digital wallet.
